Moorish Classic

This beautiful hand-knotted runner is a faithful reinterpretation of a 15th-century Spanish Alcaraz carpet (1450–1500) preserved in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The original design reflects the rich artistic dialogue between Moorish (Islamic) Spain and medieval European courts, where Spanish carpets were highly prized luxury goods.

Craftsmanship

Each piece is woven by skilled Northern Afghan artisans using:

• Hand-spun Ghazni wool

Cultural Background

Carpets from medieval Spain were celebrated across Europe and recorded in royal inventories from the 13th to 15th centuries. Smaller carpets like this were used beside beds, before altars, on tables and chests, or hung decoratively during festivals.
